Morocco is currently undergoing a constant transformation characterized by the emergence of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI). In this new context, traditional approaches to citizenship education are no longer adequate for preparing an engaged, responsible youth ready to face the challenges of the millennium. Therefore, it is crucial for the country to reassess its pedagogical approaches to meet the needs and aspirations of its youth. Like other countries, Morocco must revise its teaching methods to satisfy the demands and desires of its younger generation. The concepts of active citizenship, digital education, and didactic innovations are the foundation of this article. It proposes an exploratory and analytical study of the main documents addressing digital education, pedagogy, and citizenship in Morocco. The study will highlight learner-centered pedagogical theories and the use of digital technologies to promote engagement and active learning, which are essential for citizenship education.
It is also vital to integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into citizenship education to cultivate responsible citizens inclined to contribute to sustainable development. The article will examine various ways to incorporate CSR into curricula, encouraging students to consider the social, environmental, and economic consequences of their actions and to adopt responsible behaviors. The integration of CSR into citizenship education can also be facilitated through didactic innovations such as simulation-based learning, educational games, and virtual learning environments. These resources provide students with opportunities to immerse themselves in real-life situations, develop problem-solving and collaboration skills, and grasp the complex issues of sustainable development. An exploratory approach is adopted in this article, based on a review of the literature and analyses of innovative experiences in citizenship education using artificial intelligence.
