Abstract

The Covid-19 health crisis has had a considerable impact on the Moroccan economic landscape, leading to the temporary or permanent suspension of activities for almost half of all companies. This article focuses specifically on the impact of this crisis on employment within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Morocco, highlighting the crucial role of these entities in job creation. The analysis is based on data from a survey carried out by the World Bank, involving a representative sample of 659 companies in Morocco. Using the logistic regression method, we assess the relationships between different variables and their impact on employment within these companies. The results of the study reveal, in particular, the existence of a significant relationship between an increase in the level of production and changes in the number of employees. Adjusting the production level increases the probability of a decrease in the number of employees in the company.
