Rethinking the integration of ICT in teaching generation Z

Abstract

Information and communications technologies (ICT) exert their influence in all spheres of life and offer new teaching and learning methods. This article aims to present reflections on questions relating to the integration of ICT in the teaching of Generation Z, navigating between the need to integrate technological advances while preserving fundamental learning values and respecting the characteristics and needs of members of this generation. This article explores technological advances in the field of ICT and their possible use in the field of education, highlighting innovative strategies for integrating technologies to meet the needs of Generation Z. The increased use of social networks, artificial intelligence (AI), the metaverse, and the inverted classroom are discussed in this work to show their impact on the learning process and the importance of rethinking the integration of ICT in the teaching of Generation Z with these new advances and technological tools that are beginning to disrupt traditional paradigms and impose questions around pedagogical boundaries that can be modified.
