Electronic government: What approach to succeed in the New Mode of Public Management

Abstract

The electronic government today is the service that uses all information and communication technologies (ICT) to create electronic channels that guarantee economic prosperity, as well as the fluidity of interactions between the government and the citizens.

The new public management (NPM) constitutes one of the means used to strengthen public governance, mainly on the aspects of human resources performance, the efficiency of administrative procedures, and the development of public services online.

In this article, based on a systematic literature, we will examine the e-government in the public administration’s sphere, and then we will try to analyze new approaches that can promote the success of NPM. We conclude this communication with reflections and recommendations on the importance of e-gov and its impact on economic and social development.

At the end, we concluded by deducing the importance of a well-studied and adequate digital strategy for the administration, as the main key variable for the success of digital transformation, among other things having an impact on performance.
